Roly is a Registered Physiotherapist in British Columbia, a member of the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.  Roly is also a Certified Vestibular Therapist & Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. 

As a Physiotherapist, Roly has worked in the public health care system in both the UK and Canada gaining experience in the Intensive Care Unit, the Emergency Room and in the field of: orthopaedics, neurology, rehabilitation, surgical, medical, oncology, pediatrics, outpatient care and home health.  Roly has also worked with top international athletes having been contracted by the English Institute of Sport and UK Athletics.  He was also one of the Physiotherapists for the 07/08 Mavericks (Champions of the Fiat Netball Super League 2008), and has also supported the English Badminton team in Paris, France.

Roly is interested in concussion management and the vestibular, visual and exercise treatment approaches following injury.  Roly also has vast experience in the management of complex and chronic pain conditions including fibromyalgia, CRPS, myofascial pain, chronic fatigue.  He continues to hold a position in the Fraser Health Pain Management Clinic where he has been instrumental in the development of chronic pain services for patients as well as the education of other health care staff. 

In 2015, Roly was invited to develop and present a module for the Practice Support Program on chronic pain; a project sponsored by Doctors of BC for Family Physicians.  He continues to be involved with this program that provides pain education for Family Physicians.

Roly lectures annually to both medical and physiotherapy students at UBC.  Roly is also regularly invited to present on a variety of topics especially pain and its management.  He has delivered several presentations to a variety of audiences including medical students, allied health, nursing and physicians as well as several conferences and workshops such as Pacific Sport, Pain BC, FHA & VC Practice Forum and the Kinesiology (BCAK) AGM.  Roly is actively involved in clinical research and his interests include how education, language, context and emotions affect the pain experience.
